The Danube Loop near Schlögen is a striking bend in the Danube River in Upper Austria. It is one of the most impressive natural phenomena along the river and offers spectacular views from the ‘Schlögener Blick’ viewpoint. The Network

Four tourists sit relaxed on a traditional Zille boat, gliding leisurely along the Danube while enjoying the idyllic river landscape. The peaceful journey offers them unforgettable insights into the nature and cultural heritage along the river. A perfect moment to experience the beauty of the Danube up close.

Our goals

  • Offer visitors the opportunity to reach the Pearls without their own car by better combining existing mobility services
  • Offer visitors a suitable connection to the next pearl (or home)
  • Provide user-friendly and easily accessible information on existing mobility services and tourist offers
The Danube is one of the most promising tourist destinations in Europe. To get to the Danube and explore the many attractions, most tourists use the car as a main means of transport. However, this has a negative impact on the environment and the local population. To counteract this and move it in another direction, 11 destinations from 8 Danube countries have come together and want to use the unlimited potential of the mighty river to give tourists the opportunity to explore the Danube region from different perspectives: by train, by train by bicycle along the Danube Cycle Path or from the water by canoe or kayak.

Transdanube Travel Stories

10 partners from seven countries are committed to the further development of tourism in the Danube Region through the Interreg project “Transdanube Travel Stories” and aim to enrich Europe’s lifeline with new stories and experiences through new, innovative strategies. The Danube Travel Stories campaign is an activity within the framework of this project.
