About us

Danube.Pearls

The Network

Four tourists enjoying a boat trip on the Danube

Our goals

  • Offer visitors the opportunity to reach the Pearls without their own car by better combining existing mobility services
  • Offer visitors a sustainable way to travel to the next pearl (or home)
  • Provide user-friendly and easily accessible information on existing sustainable mobility services and tourist offers

The Danube is one of the most promising tourist destinations in Europe. To get to the Danube and explore the many attractions, most tourists use the car as a main means of transport. However, this has a negative impact on the environment and the local population. To counteract this and move it in another direction, 11 destinations from 8 Danube countries have come together and want to use the unlimited potential of the mighty river to give tourists the opportunity to explore the Danube region from different perspectives: by train, by train by bicycle along the Danube Cycle Path or from the water by canoe or kayak.
